What is the procedure FSSAI Online Registration in Haryana?

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is an autonomous body established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to regulate and monitor the activities of food business operators located all over India. FSSAI has launched Food Licensing and Registration System in place to ensure that it facilitates Licensing, Renewal, and track of application status online through a user-friendly website of FSSAI.

Food Operators such as producers, manufacturers, brokers, eateries, or related food activities in Haryana or any state in India, shall apply to the respective authority for issuing 14 digits FSSAI License. Online Food License

Process of FSSAI Online Registration :

The license can be obtained online which is the same procedure all over India however submission of documents offline shall be made to the concerned Commissioner of Food Safety of the particular state where the entity is being registered. Following is the online process to get a Food License in Haryana:

  • Visit the official website of Food License https://foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in/ and proceed further to apply online.
  • Once the applicant clicks the option "Apply Now", there appeared an undertaking on-screen which shall be preceded further by selecting "I Accept".
  • After that choose the State (In this case Haryana) in which entity is to be registered from the drop-down menu.
  • Complete the online registration by filling the details in such a tab applicable to entity applying. Following are the tabs for different category of business such as:

                    a) Manufacturer,
                    b) Importer,
                    c) Other business,
                    d) The premise at central government agencies,
                    e) The premise at the airport,
                    f)   Mid-day meal,
                    g)  Exporting FBO

  • Once the form is completed, submit the government fees online which is applicable on entity depending upon the category under which it is being registered
  • Thereafter Online Reference Number is generated which can be used to track the application status
  • Once the authority approves the application, will issue the notice to an applicant for Inspection of the Premise
  • Upon being satisfied with the on-premise inspection, the authority shall grant the Food License consisting of 14 digits number.

Types of FSSAI Registration :

Three types of FSSAI Licenses are issued depending upon turnover of entity:

  • Basic License: This license is obtained by start-ups who have started just their business or other food business operators having a turnover of INR 12 Lakhs.
  • State License: This license is obtained by FBO with turnover exceeding 12 Lakhs but less than INR 20 Crore
  • Central License: This license is obtained by a large entity with turnover exceeding INR 20 Crore and who are engaged in import-export activities.

Eligible Entities for Food License:

Following units engaged in food business shall obtain the FSSAI Registration Certificate:

  • Dairy units handling and processing milk and other dairy products
  • Units that produce and process vegetable oil and extract or refine the oil
  • Slaughtering units
  • Meat processing unit
  • Export-oriented unit
  • Restaurants and Hotels

Units that undertake to relabel and packing of food products.

Government Fees for FSSAI License: 

Fees applicable for FSSAI registration vary as per the kind of license and operational level of such units:

  • Basic Registration: For the units whose turnover doesn’t exceed INR 12 Lakhs, fees applicable is INR 100 per year
  • State License: Units having a turnover of exceeding 12 Lakhs but not exceeding INR 20 Crore shall apply for a state license with fees ranging from INR 2000 to INR 5000 depending upon its production capacity
  • Central License: Large units those have a turnover exceeding 20 Crore shall apply online by paying fees of INR 7500 per year
